Overlocked Edge
Best for: Simple and clean edge finish
Overlocked binding is an entry-level edge finish. It is machine overlocked at 10–12mm with radial corners for a clean, tailored look. The yarn is carefully colour-matched to the rug for a subtle, consistent finish that blends with the design.

Fabric & Leather Edge
Best for: Decorative contrast
Fabric or leather edging creates a defined border around the rug and adds a refined finishing detail. Available in a range of materials including cotton, linen, canvas, leather, faux leather, and jute, it is ideal for creating either a subtle finish or a contrasting framed look.

Self-Turned Edge

The self-turned edge folds the rug material back on itself and is finished with a double-bonded underlay. This creates a soft edge and a luxurious feel underfoot.

Hand Serged Edge

Hand Serged Finish creates a clean, seamless edge by hand serging the edge of the rug using the same yarn or a closely colour-matched alternative, designed to blend in with the rug surface.

Lead Times & Production
Our Auckland binding facility completes edging locally, delivering clean, understated finishes with practical lead times. Most custom rugs finished here are ready for dispatch within 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the specification.
For projects that require traditional hand-serged edges, rugs are finished at source. This method creates a fully integrated edge during production, with an extended lead time from order to dispatch.
